ADMISSION PROCEDURE

• The Uttarakhand State Higher Education Admission Portal (UKHEAP) – 2024 is being introduced for admission into all UG Programmes in Uttarakhand State Universities (Kumaun University Nainital, Soban SIngh Jeena University Almora and Sridev Suman Uttarakhand University Badshahithol, Tehri Garhwal) for academic session 2024-25 under the Department of Higher Education Uttarakhand. The Uttarakhand State Higher Education Admission Portal will provide a common platform and equal opportunities to candidates across the state, especially those from rural and other remote areas and help establish better connect with the Universities. A single portal will enable the Candidates to cover a wide outreach and be part of the admissions process to Uttarakhand State Universities.

Library

Central Library of the University fosters environment for Learning & Teaching. It is a quiet place to study and research. Established in 1992, Central Library is spread over the area of 2400 square meters with 425 seating capacity. It has now completed 25 years with its monograph collection at more than 30,000, foreign journals (mostly e-journals) and 119 Indian Journals. It also subscribes to two databases i.e. J-Gate and EBSCO Business Source Elite that contains more than 600 full text journals. With internet facility, students also have access to over 4 Lakhs books through World Class Library. Besides, Library services are also provided through four faculty library centers which are located at the Medical Institute, Management School, School of Engineering & Technology and Nursing College

Cafeteria

Kumaun University, Nainital has state of the art cafeteria.Healthy and hygienically prepared food is served at the in-house canteens where students can enjoy homelike food besides indulging at the In-campus Cafeteria.

Faculty:

We have an excellent line of faculty members available to teach and mentor us through every stepping stone of the course. We follow OSPE, OSCE and MCQ based pattern with 50% internal markings. Difficulty depends on the individual. The more you utilize your time the more easy it becomes.

Hostel

Accommodation is next best to home. Our residential facilities provide an environment to enhance students personal abilities, besides, living together, living independently and enriching understanding of various facets of life journey through analytical, philosophical discussions etc. University has separate hostel for girls and boys pursuing Medical programs. Additionally, residential facilities, though limited, are available to students pursuing Management / Engineering programs on first come first basis. Sports & Games

Sports and physical activities are an integral part of our curriculum. The institute has facilities for both indoor & Outdoor sports-table Tennis Room, Carom Room, Chess, Indoor Badminton Court. The campus is one of the most versatile campus with various activities and sports events conducted throughout the year. Sports play an integral role in the overall development of students and due emphasis is laid on games and sports. The sport week is organized in each session where students participate with full enthusiasm.

Dr. Kavita Khoiwae

Dr. Kavita Khoiwal,Associate prof.,Dept of Obst and Gyny, @aiimsrishi entered in Limca book of records 2022 for removal of heaviest malignant ovarian tumor (41.1 Kg) on 21st August 2020 with her team.The size of the ovarian tumor was approx 60x50x40 cm.
