Course Overveiw

Animation is the basic technique to create the illusion of motion out of simple images. VFX is an abbreviation for visual effects is a much wider term. VFX involves execute live realistic imagery or environments which would be impractical or impossible to achieve with film.

Artistically inclined and creative Students are most suited for the course. A vivid imagination, drawing skills and modeling capability would prove helpful in getting the most out of the course. An Eye for detail, observational skills, Patience and Concentration and team work are other helpful qualities.

B.Sc Animation or Bachelor of Science in Animation deals with the process of drawing, designing, and preparation of photographic sequences which are integrated with gaming and multimedia. The 3 year six semesters course is offered at a few institutes in India. The BSc Animation course provides an opportunity for young artists to understand the nuances of animation and filmmaking.

Curriculum & Syllabus

Eligibility to take admission in BSc Animation is 10+2 passed or equivalent qualification with a minimum aggregate score of 50%. The students from Science stream are preferred. 

B.Sc Animation is a multifaceted course imbibing ‘Visual Arts’, ‘Film Making,’ ‘Concept Development’ ‘3D’ and others. The course gets administrated & taught in a variety of forms and syllabuses depending much on the institution hosting the discipline. Some Universities offer this degree under the name of B.Sc Multimedia, B.Sc Animation and Multimedia.

The three years degree course offered a complete knowledge on 2D classical and Digital, 3D Animation and Visual effects.

The first semester covers fundamentals of art and designs, the second includes classical and digital animation, the third covers elements of 3D when the student becomes capable of developing 3D short films.

The fourth semester students are exposed to visual effects and the fifth semester student can chose any one of the above for his specialization to learn the advance module, so that in the sixth semester he prepares his portfolio in a selected module.

Art Director These to work based on the commands from copywriters and create ideas to present to the client. They also work on various designs to produce effective advertising campaigns, and commission specialists, such as artists and photographers, to work on projects.
3D Animator Special effects, animation, or other visual images using film, video, computers, or other electronic tools and media are designed by 3D Animators.
Film/ Video Editor Finished products that are suitable for broadcasting are assembled through recorded raw material by Film editors. This particular material may consist of dialogue, sound effects, camera footage, graphics, and special effects.
Animator They create images that appear to come to life on screen. Animators work is seen in commercials, pop videos, computer games, feature films, websites, and other media.
Videogame Designer They design characters, levels, puzzles, art, and animation. They are also supposed to complete project management tasks and testing early versions of video games.
