Course Overveiw

BSc Agriculture is a 4-year undergraduate course that primarily focuses on research and practices in agricultural science, dealing with disciplines like Genetics and Plant Breeding, Agricultural Microbiology, Soil Science, Plant Pathology, etc. It is a professional degree recognized by the Government of India in the field of agricultural science. This course aims to provide training to implement modern agricultural techniques and technologies in the real world scenario. 

The curriculum includes subjects/papers in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Agricultural Economics, Extension Education, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Soil Science, Food technology, Animal Husbandry as well as supporting courses from Basic Sciences, Humanities and Agricultural Engineering. This degree program is infused with practical emphasis on ‘Hands on’ training and ‘learning by doing’.

Well organized agriculture farm with setup of different agricultural practices such as horticulture, agronomy, mushroom cultivation etc. provides field exposure to the students. Polyhouse, agricultural field and orchards of mango etc. outside campus premises accompanying with advanced laboratories and hi-tech classrooms are strength of the department.

Curriculum & Syllabus

The BSc Agriculture syllabus is divided into eight semesters or four years. Through this curriculum, aspirants can canvass, provoke, challenge, and question people, places, things, and structures as part of the program, which helps them conceptualize and validate ideas.
