University of Patanjali is a manifestation of the divine vision of Yogrishi Swami Ramdev Ji and Ayurved Shiromani Acharya Balkrishna Ji
The University of Patanjali (UoP) is named after the great Indian sage Patanjali (c. 900 BC,), who first compiled the numerous writings on Yoga in the form of aphorisms. It was established through Act No. 4/2006 of Uttarakhand State Legislature published in the State Gazette on 05.04.2006. The University is sponsored by Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust (PYP) and is located on Delhi Haridwar National Highway at Bhadrabad, Haridwar nearby the bank of the Ganges. The University is a member of the Association of Indian Universities.
The modern education system has restricted itself to gain information for employment purposes and very little stress has given on personality development for social co-existence.
From self sustaining use of natural resources to self-destructive materialism, Revered Yog Rishi Swami Ramdev and Ayurveda Shiromani Acharya Balkrishna have given the clarion call of ‘Back to Nature’ and propounded the path of natural food to health and happiness through Yoga and Ayurveda. With the growing mass following, more Indians are eager to go back to Ancient roots of Wisdom. Asceticism, health care, integral education and entrepreneurship are its major domains of teaching-learning.

University of Patanjali admission is entrance-based. The University standardises and promotes indigenous education system in synergy with modern technology. It also promotes research on Humanities, Management, Journalism; Natural & Applied Sciences, Social Sciences and allied knowledge spectrums. At present, University of Patanjali has four faculties, including Faculty of Yog Science, Faculty of Humanities & Ancient Studies, Faculty of Science and Faculty of Management. These faculties are further divided into 11 departments that collectively offer 10 courses at UG, PG, diploma, certificate and doctoral level. Students, pursuing any of these courses from the University, get an opportunity to learn from sages, saints, scholars and intellectuals under the guidance of Yog Rishi Swami Ramdev.
University of Patanjali has updated and attractive library accommodating more than 15, 900 ancient scriptures and modern texts; journals, periodicals, newspapers and broad band connection. University has more than 20,000 books on ancient literature, modern science and technology. Different type of newspapers and magazines are also available at reading room.

A one day national workshop on Garbh Sanskar was organized at the UOP auditorium to celebrate ancient, ideal mothers like Jija Bai, Sita, Putli Bai, Madalasa, etc. who despite challenges shaped the lives of their children and raised them with India sanskars.
