Admission Criteria

• All the programmes have limited seats announced after the approval of Academic Council of the University. Number of seats displayed on university website before the counselling starts. Maharaja Agrasen Himalayan Garhwal University, Uttarakhand reserves the right to variation of seats. Only the predetermined number of students may be admitted to any of the academic Programmes.
• Admissions to any academic programme in the Maharaja Agrasen Himalayan Garhwal University, Uttarakhand will be made on the basis of merit determined as per the procedure laid down by the University. (entrance marks for professional and technical courses, marks obtained in the qualifying examination). Merit list prepared on the basis of merit prepared either on the basis of entrance or marks in qualifying examination.
• University may conduct its own entrance test, interview, counselling, direct admission or any other basis as per the specific requirements of the particular academic programme and the weightage to be assigned for various admission criteria shall be as prescribed by the University from time to time.
• University may consider/ utilize the list of results of such examination/ test conducted by different state/ national/ professional bodies/boards.
• The University may decide to make admission to the vacant seats in any of the academic programme on merit basis or otherwise, as deemed fit.
• Merit list prepared of students Qualified in MAHGEE followed by GD & Interview MAT/ CAT qualified candidates also are (score card of the present academic session) are eligible for admissions to MBA programme.
• Candidates who fulfil the requisite qualifications and eligibility criteria for any academic programme in accordance with the provisions mentioned or such qualifications recognized as equivalent to either of the eligibility criteria prescribed by the University, shall be considered for admission to any academic programme.
• Change/transfer to any of the academic programme in Maharaja Agrasen Himalayan Garhwal University, Uttarakhand shall not be permissible after confirmed admission.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

• Students seeking admission to any of the academic programmes are advised to send their applications on the prescribed format obtained from the Admission Cell of Maharaja Agrasen Himalayan Garhwal University, Uttarakhand and Information centers on payment of Rs. 1000/-. (Application can also be downloaded from the University website: www.hgu.ac.in). Enclose a demand draft of Rs. 1000/- (Rupess five hundered only) drawn in favour of “Maharaja Agrasen Himalayan Garhwal University” payable at ‘Dehradun’. with downloaded application.
• The application form should be submitted or sent to “The Registrar, Maharaja Agrasen Himalayan Garhwal University, Village Dhaid Gaon, Block Pokhra, Dist. Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, India”.
• All the information furnished in the application form should be carefully filled, complete and correct to the best knowledge of` the aspirants and followings duly self attested copies of all the required documents/certificates must be enclosed:

  i. 10th mark sheet
  ii. 12th mark sheet
  iii. 10th Pass certificate
  iv. 12th pass certificate
  v. Domicile ( for permanent residents of Uttarakhand )
  vi. Annual Income certificate
  vii. Transfer certificate/ Migration Certificate
  viii. Character certificate
  ix. 10 passport size photographs
  x. Proof of entitlement for a particular reservation category (SC/ST/OBC Certificate)
  xi. Pre-Qualifying Test Score card (if any)
  xii. Medical Fitness certificate

  xiii. Domicile Certificate

Infrastructure/Facilities

At (MAHGU) the students are endowed with modern infra and convenient amenities that make their life ‘go easy’ in college hours, alongside make learning more interesting.

Computer Labs

Information Technology is the focal point of the Institute, and at the core of it we have highly Sophisticated Computer labs, fully equipped with state-of-the-art hardware and software. The labs have a network of computers under the Client Server Architecture, which work jointly under the Windows environment. All computing machines have connected peripherals like printers, scanners etc.

Library

The MAHGU’s library has comfortable sitting space, wi-fi internet facility for
searching the web, assistance from the Library staff helps the students to get
correct and relevant information from Internet and Books. MAHGU provides a set of
books at the start of the semester to every student for the entire duration.
This unique facility assists the Student in having the updated versions and
publications for the course duration.

Canteen

It is the favourite haunt of the students during their spare time. It offers
variety of food at reasonable price. Sandwiches, coffee, soft drinks, hot snacks
and soft drinks are available in the institute canteen serving hygienically
cooked food. In order to satisfy the appetites of the students and to give them
a break after a day’s hard work.

Sports & Games

Sports and physical activities are an integral part of
our curriculum. The institute has facilities for both indoor & Outdoor
sports-table Tennis Room, Carom Room, Chess, Indoor Badminton Court. The campus
is one of the most versatile campus with various activities and sports events
conducted throughout the year. Sports play an integral role in the overall
development of students and due emphasis is laid on games and sports. The sport
week is organized in each session where students participate with full
enthusiasm.

Hriday Samrat Shri Bholeji Maharaj and Parampoojaniya Matashri Manglaji, the inspiration of Hans Cultural Centre, unveiled the revised name of Himalayan Garhwal University.

Under the aegis of Maharaja Agrasen Himalayan Garhwal University, Pokhra, and as per guidelines of University Grants Commission and Government of India as a preamble to International Day of Yoga, a free Yoga Awareness camp was organised at Police Station, Satpuli on 14th May 2022. Dr. Deepak Kumar and Dr Malti along with Preeti Rawat provided detailed information, demonstrated Yogic exercises and key to live stress free and balanced life through Yoga.
